Muzi (Marilyn) Fang
Fang is a creative technologist and researcher. Born in Shenzhen and raised in Beijing, she studied in the U.S. through diverse educational paths that shaped her interest in bridging cultures through technology and storytelling.She has contributed to projects at MIT, NYU, and Peking University, ranging from volumetric archives and heritage-based XR learning tools to motion-tracked performance systems. At NYU’s Virtual Production Studio, Tandon at the Yard, she has served as a Graduate Research Assistant under Prof. Todd Bryant, developing workflows that integrate OptiTrack, Gaussian splatting, and 3D time-lapse pipelines into experimental XR projects.
Beyond academia, Fang is a former Division III golf player. She is the founder of KaleidoPutt, an immersive indoor golf venture. She earned her B.A. in Media Arts and Sciences from Wellesley College and is currently pursuing her M.S. in Integrated Design and Media at NYU Tandon.
